The Weekend is the perfect time to relax and unwind from the stress of the work week. What would be a better way than to see your favorite school back on the gridiron? Things are looking good because amid a pandemic, there will still be college football on Saturdays.
With three of the five “power five” conferences still having a season, there should have no problem finding a game on this weekend. If you happen to be a fan of the Big Ten or PAC-12 teams, this weekend might be bittersweet since both conferences postponed all fall sports until further notice. “Group of five” conferences proceeding with the same plan include the MAC and Mountain West conference with a few independent schools following. The ACC, SEC, and Big 12, do plan to go on with their season with modified in-conference schedules to limit out of conference travel.
This does not mean your favorite team will not play this weekend. 54 out of 130 teams have canceled or postponed their season due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. If you are a glass-half-full person that means 76 teams have not cancelled or postponed their season. The race to the college football playoff has never been more wide open. With key players opting-out, conferences postponing or outright cancelling season. Only time will tell who makes the final four to play for a championship in January.
