After a long year, Thiel sports are officially back. The Thiel College Women’s and Thiel College Men’s basketball teams got the sports season started February 17th as both teams played the Westminster Titans. Both teams would eventually fall, with the women losing by a score of 66-58 and the men losing by a score of 86-69.

Within that time as well, both Men’s and Women’s volleyball also started their seasons. The men have only competed one time this season, in a match on February 18th against Geneva College, in which they would eventually fall in by a score of 3-0. The men return to action March 10th away to Penn State Behrend.

The women have started their season strongly, as they are currently unbeaten. They began their season on February 28th against Saint Vincent College, a match that they would go on to win in a 3-0 sweep. They would continue their strong start by beating the Franciscan Lady Barons by a score of 3-0. The women will look to continue their hot start to the season when they travel for their first road game of the season to Grove City College on March 6, 2021.

This weekend, multiple teams make their season debuts. The Thiel College Softball team opens up their season Saturday, March 6 at 1 p.m against Grove City College. The Thiel College Women’s Lacrosse team also opens up their season Saturday, March 6 at 4 p.m., also against Grove City College.
