DAYTONA, Fla. – The Thiel College competitive cheer team placed second at the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA).
Back on March 26, the cheer team took first place in its division at Gannon University’s Road to Daytona Showcase with the highest score of 93.86. The team showed off their Nationals routine for the first time at the Showcase.
On Thursday (4/7), Thiel placed first in their Open Spirit Rally category during the preliminary round with a score of 93.1. For the first time, the team had eleven members compete in nationals.
In the final set of competitions, the team scored a 93.1, finishing second. Henderson University finished first.
The Thiel Competitive Cheer team is coached by Randall Burnett.
