It is no secret that films of all sorts are prevalent in our society and have been for many years. According to the official website of the Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, “Since 1929, the Oscars have recognized excellence in cinematic achievements.” On March 15, 2026, the Oscar awards were announced for celebrating the films that came out in 2025.
There are many categories for nominations. These categories include: Actor in a Leading Role, Actor in a Supporting Role, Actress in a Leading Role, Actress in a Supporting Role, Animated Feature Film, Animated Short Film, Casting, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Documentary Feature Film, Documentary Feature Film, Film Editing, International Feature Film, Live Action Short Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music Original Score, Music Original Song, Best Picture, Production Design, Sound, Visual Effects, Writing Adapted Screenplay, and Writing Original Screenplay. Overall, there are many awards delivered to well-deserving filmmakers and participants.
As for the recipients, there are also many. Michael B. Jordan won the Actor in a Leading Role award with Sinners, which also won the award for Cinematography, Music Original Score, and Writing Original Screenplay. For Actor in a Supporting Role, Sean Penn received the award. For Actress in a Leading Role, Jessie Buckley received the award. For Actress in a Supporting Role, Amy Madigan received the award. For Animated Feature Film, KPop Demon Hunters received the award, as well as the award for Music Original Song. For Animated Short Film, The Girl Who Cried Pearls received the award. Best Casting, Directing, Film Editing, and Best Picture went to One Battle After Another. Frankenstein won best Costume Design and Makeup and Hairstyling. For the award of Sound, F1 was the recipient. For Documentary Feature Film, Mr. Nobody Against Putin won the award. All The Empty Rooms won the Documentary Short Film award. Norway’s Sentimental Value won the award for International Feature Film. The Singers won the Live Action Short Film award. And finally, Avatar: Fire and Ash won the award for Visual Effects.
All in all, these recipients were awarded their prizes for good reason as it takes a lot of hard work determination, and patience to complete a project as large as a film.
