As we are all aware, most college students have little income, so when it comes to planning special events such as a wonderful Valentine’s Day date, it can become tricky. Although it may be hard to find perfect date ideas, I can assure you that it is important to spend time and effort with loved ones. As difficult as it may seem, with careful enough planning you too can have a great time out of simple, cheap, and local date ideas.
Idea One: Axe-throwing, Splatter-Painting, or Rage-Rooming at Carried Away Outfitters.
I am willing to bet that either you or someone you know has had a lot of stress due to quite the workload college brings. Managing stress alongside the hustle and bustle is challenging, but it is very important to let that stress out in a productive and safe environment. At Carried Away Outfitters, on Main Street in Greenville, PA, there is the opportunity to hammer out the excess stress through throwing axes at targets, smashing old TVs and glasses, and throwing paint at other participants. Prices vary depending on the activity and more information can be found on their website at https://carriedawayoutfitters.com/.
Idea Two: Cute Coffee Date at Fresh Grounds.
Do you or your loved ones love the taste of amazing coffee or tea? What better way to get to know someone on a deeper level than to share a drink and possibly a snack with them? Inside Fresh Grounds, which is also on Main Street of Greenville, PA, there is comfortable seating and plenty of warm, welcoming people. Also, on the upper level of the shop, there is an art gallery which changes often. This date idea is perfect for first dates and people who enjoy delicious beverages and beautiful art pieces. P.S. On Thursdays they give Thiel College students a discount on their drinks!
Idea Three: A Walk in Riverside Park.
This date idea works perfectly in all seasons of the year, especially winter! If you and your date are bundled up, you can enjoy a romantic and peaceful walk in a winter wonderland local to the Greenville area. Or, if you and your date prefer excitement and will be safe, bring along a sled of
some sort and enjoy riding down the steep hills in the park. Either way, this date idea is 100% free of cost which may be important to college students.
Enjoying time with your loved ones is always important, but if you are also a broke college student like me, then you will find value in low-cost and free date ideas. Keep in mind to do your research on the days and times these places are available for use. One final piece of advice: use these date ideas for more than just Valentine’s Day!
