In October of 2024, an anonymous Cornell University student known as “Jane Doe” reported a “gang-rape” by seven Chi Phi fraternity members. Two years later, the case is reopening with newfound evidence.

In November of 2024, Doe reported that on October 19-20, attended two sorority and fraternity houses and a bar called Moonies Bar and Nightclub. Although Jane Doe was marked as under the legal drinking age, she was served alcohol by the bartenders. After this, she travelled to the Chi Phi fraternity house, where shortly after entering, the assault would occur.

At the Chi Phi house, the defendant Matthew Ingalls suggested having a “threesome” sexual encounter with one of the fraternity brothers. Despite being unable to consent due to being intoxicated, Ingalls still allegedly brought Doe to a room.

Doe claims Ingalls and defendant Johnathan Newell pressured her to snort a powdery, white substance said to be ketamine. The men allegedly supplied her with alcohol and marijuana.

According to the lawsuit, Ingalls initiated oral sex while Newell penetrated Jane Doe’s vagina. Defendant Lopes then joined the assault. Lopes and Newell placed her onto the bed and then again began another sexual encounter while Doe could not consent. Allegedly.

At approximately 1:42 a.m., Newell sent a Snapchat message to a group chat with 57 active Chi Phi members encouraging them to join him for “free pussy.” Multiple of these members entered the room.

Defendants Ingalls, Newell, Lee, Lopes, Sarabia, Norris and Kretzschmar poured and snorted lines of ketamine over her body after Newell commanded Doe to snort ketamine off his erect penis.

The sexual assault lasted until 5:45 a.m.

Not one of the 57 Cornell University Chi Phi brothers reported the assault.

People all over the world are in support of Jane Doe, with colleges such as Thiel College releasing statements about sexual misconduct. There is no place for sexual misconduct. To all sexual assault survivors, there is support, love and care for you.
