By Brian L Brink

“The music festival is coming!” said Kira Snyder, senior and general manager of WXTC.

The first round of auditions happened Saturday, Feb. 17 on Thiel Campus for students looking to perform at the 2018 “WXTC VH1 Save the Music Festival.”

This was the first of two rounds of auditions that will be held in the Lutheran Heritage Room.

Throughout the day there was a mix of modern pop music and showtunes sang by the auditionees. During the auditions, each hopeful performer sang two songs on the stage to let the judges know how well their talent is.

The judges consisted of the WXTC board of directors, which included; Dan Wagner, technology director; Jake Clark, programs director; Trey Andrews, sports director; Bella Vapenik, public relations director; and Snyder.

There were only three people to come this time around, but more are excepted for the second round which will take place Saturday, Feb. 24 at 3pm in the LHR.
